Bishop's New COVID-19 Decree
March 1, 2022
Based on the latest revised Bishop’s Decree which came of Tuesday, March 1, 2022:
1) Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are no longer required to wear face masks while distributing Holy Communion.
2) We are no longer required to have a separate space for social distancing. As such, the chapel, which was serving this purpose until now, will in the near future be returning to the chapel set-up.
3) The use of hand sanitizer will continue to be encouraged but will be left to the discretion of each person.
All other current protocols will remain in place until otherwise noted.
Parish Parking Notice

We would like to remind our parishioners to park within our Parish Property. Parking on on the street, in alleys, or at Hobby Lobby is not permitted. Those who park in these prohibited areas are subject to towing or receiving parking citations by the City of Plano Police Department.
Parking is available at the church, behind St Mark Catholic School, by the Smyth Pastoral Center, and even across the street at the St Mark Parish Office.
Catholic Charities Mobile Food Pantry

The Catholic Charities Mobile Food Pantry will be distributing essential food items to our community this Saturday March 5th 2022 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the Smyth Pastoral Center Parking Lot.

The St Mark Food Pantry, in connection with the St. Vincent DePaul Organization, want to say: Thank you to all St, Mark Parishioners for their generous donations. Because of your help, we gave out over 1149 pounds of food to those in need in February 2022. We helped feed 19 families which included 33 adults and 15 children. If you, or someone you know, is having a difficult time and in need of food, send them to us. 1201 Alma Drive, Suite 207 in Plano, TX 75075. We are open Saturdays 8:45am-11:45am.
The need is ongoing. Donation bins are in the narthex. You can also give online using the button.
St Mark Pro-Life Baby Shop

Our St. Mark's Baby Donation Shop is located in room 203 of the Smyth Pastoral Center. We accept baby clothes (new or gently used) up to size 24 months or 2T, diapers, wipes, baby shampoo and soap.
Your financial and baby essentials donations made it possible to help over 55 families in 2021. We are proud to be a part of St. Mark's, where a mother in need can turn for help. Thank you so much!

Upcoming Faith & Grief Session
March 9, 2022
All men and women grieving the death of a loved one are invited to attend monthly Faith and Grief gatherings. Come and experience a supportive environment and care, comfort, and confidentiality with others who understand grief and loss. Discussion and sharing is led by trained facilitators. Our Lady of Angels and St. Mark parishes collaborate to offer this grief support to our communities. Gatherings are held on the second Wednesday of every month. You may choose to attend once (to check it out) or more often for on-going grief support.

Upcoming SVdP Collection
March 12, 2022
The first of three 2022 St. Vincent de Paul Black Bag Collections is the weekend of March 12. Our focus with this collection will be to help those in our community deal with rent and utility issues as well as assist those living in temporary housing to find affordable housing in our area. The Black Bags will be passed around immediately following the regular collection during the offertory portion of the Mass.

Lenten Mission
March 24 & 25, 2022
Kevin Roerty the founder of SOCA (Soul of the Christian Apostolate) will be leading our Lenten Mission on Thursday and Friday March 24th and 25th @ 7 pm in the Church. This mission aims to teach you about the different stages of the spiritual life, how to do mental prayer, and the importance of having a rule of life to grow deeper in your relationship with God. We hope you can join us!
Confirmation Announcement
March 12 & 19, 2022
Our Confirmation Students are having their Confirmation Retreat: Sat, March 12 & Sat, March 19.
The retreat will be held in the St. Mark Parish Office. The Address is 1105 West 15th St. Plano TX 75075.
We will be using the Youth Ministry entrance to the building which faces the tall bank building next to our property. We will begin signing teens in at 9:30 AM and, at 4:30 PM parents will need to pick them up promptly. This retreat will be run by a team of Net Missionaries.
Please keep our Confirmation Students in your prayers as well our Net Missionaries.

Middle School Youth Retreat!
March 26, 2022
This year’s Middle School Spring Retreat is called FLIGHT and focuses on the three conversions in the spiritual life, otherwise known as the “Three Ways.” These are the purgative, where one’s spiritual life begins with an attempt to avoid temptation, the illuminative, where one has overcome the major struggles against mortal sin, and the unitive, when one finds peace and is detached from temporal things. The retreat, led by our speaker Kevin Roerty, is intended to help youth rediscover these underemphasized essentials of Catholic spiritual life that made so many great saints in ages past.
When: Saturday, March 26th; 10:00am-8:30pm
Cost: $60 Non-members | $40 Members

Basado en el último Decreto que el Obispo emitió el martes, 1 de marzo de 2022:
1) Los Ministros Extraordinarios de la Sagrada Comunión ya no están obligados a usar mascarillas mientras distribuyen la Sagrada Comunión.
2) Ya no se requiere tener un espacio separado para el distanciamiento social. Por lo tanto, la capilla, que hasta ahora servía para este propósito, en un futuro próximo volverá a la configuración de la capilla.
3) Se seguirá recomendando el uso de desinfectante de manos, pero se dejará a la discreción de cada persona.
Todos los demás protocolos actuales se mantendrán hasta que se indique lo contrario.

Nos gustaría recordar a nuestros feligreses que deben estacionarse dentro de nuestra propiedad parroquial. No se permite estacionar en la calle, en los callejones o en Hobby Lobby. Aquellos que se estacionen en estas áreas prohibidas están sujetos a ser remolcados o a recibir multas por parte del Departamento de Policía de la Ciudad de Plano.
Hay estacionamiento disponible en la iglesia, detrás de la Escuela Católica San Marcos, por el Centro Pastoral Smyth, e incluso al otro lado de la calle en la Oficina Parroquial San Marcos.

La Despensa Móvil de Caridades Católicas estará distribuyendo alimentos esenciales gratuitos a nuestra comunidad este sábado 5 de marzo de 2022 de 9:00 am a 11:00 am en el estacionamiento del Centro Pastoral Smyth.

Tienda de Bebés Pro-Vida

Nuestra tienda de donaciones para bebés de San Marcos se encuentra en el salón 203 del Centro Pastoral Smyth. Aceptamos ropa de bebé (nueva o ligeramente usada) hasta la talla 24 meses o 2T, pañales, toallitas, champú para bebés y jabón. Sus donaciones financieras y de artículos esenciales para bebés hicieron posible ayudar a más de 55 familias en 2021. Estamos orgullosos de formar parte de San Marcos, donde una madre necesitada puede acudir en busca de ayuda. ¡Muchas gracias!

Nuestros estudiantes de confirmación tienen su retiro de confirmación: Sab, 12 de Marzo y Sab, 19 de Marzo.El retiro se llevará a cabo en la Oficina Parroquial de San Marcos. La dirección es 1105 West 15th St. Plano TX 75075. Estaremos usando la entrada del Ministerio de Jóvenes. Comenzaremos a registrar a los adolescentes a las 9:30 AM y, a las 4:30 PM los padres tendrán que recogerlos puntualmente. Este retiro será dirigido por un equipo de Net Missionaries.

Retiro de Jovenes de Secundaria

El Retiro de Primavera de la Escuela Secundaria de este año se llama FLIGHT y se centra en las tres conversiones de la vida espiritual, también conocidas como los "Tres Caminos". Estos son el purgativo, en el que la vida espiritual de uno comienza con un intento de evitar la tentación, el iluminativo, en el que uno ha superado las principales luchas contra el pecado mortal, y el unitivo, cuando uno encuentra la paz y se desprende de las cosas temporales. El retiro, dirigido por nuestro conferenciante Kevin Roerty, pretende ayudar a los jóvenes a redescubrir estos elementos esenciales de la vida espiritual católica, poco enfatizados, que hicieron a tantos grandes santos en el pasado.
